- Suburbia encroaching on you?

- Want a good area for your kids to grow up in?
- Want to become part of a fast growing region of Oz
Liz and Ellis Hughes want to retire, have a look around the country and do some fishing. With reluctance we have put the 'Beantree' property and Accredited Production Nursery on the market.
It is situated on 12.55 hectares (31 acres) two kilometres from Malanda on he Atherton Tablelands. It fills a niche market, with the widest range of grasses and strap-leaf plants in Queensland but also produces a wide assortment of ground covers and other in-demand plants. Explore this web site for a detailed list of stock grown.
Growing rapidly over the last five years and currently with eight employees, there is still great potential for further expansion. An established customer base, including interstate, has been achieved with little marketing other than promotion through the website and word of mouth; this potential for sales increase through more proactive promotion remains untapped.
Infrastructure and equipment is well set up with with all facilities having gravel and weedmat flooring to accreditation standards. The nursery has shaded growing areas and a seedling house.
A new 40m x 9m Redpath vented poly-house was erected in late 2006 to replace a house lost in Cyclone Larry.
It is equipped with new benches and irrigation. Beside this is a benched shadehouse of similar size.
The 21 x 9 x 3m potting/packing shed is virtually new. It has a concrete floor, power, lighting, water and drainage and is set up with a flexible system of benches, shelving and trolleys.
Irrigation is through overhead sprinkler systems installed to 'Waterworks' standard. Excellent quality irrigation water is obtained from a bore, stored in a tank then delivered by variable speed pump to the growing areas. A fertigation system is installed. The irrigation controller and wiring are new.
The nursery has purpose-built potting mix storage, a small loader, self tracking trolleys and all the usual gear.
A two-bedroom cottage surrounded by verandahs, is currently being used as an office and for staff facilities but could easily be used as a dwelling instead.
Computers, software and databases are used as part of the business and included in the sale.
The main residence is a timber, four-bedroom house with over 400m2 under cover. A large kitchen with plentiful storage space and a large lounge room with combustion fireplace contribute to making this a comfortable, functional home. The main bedroom has an ensuite and the main bathroom with shower and bath has a separate toilet. An office could be used as a fifth bedroom.
A second bore, again with high quality drinking water, supplies the residence and is available as back-up nursery supply. Other than the nursery, the land is used for grazing, some with extensive plantation timber and a large rainforest garden.
As an alternative to commercial use this property is just a good place to live with future subdivision potential.
Full details, figures and complete list of equipment are available upon request to genuine enquirers.
